The 63 acres of Château Claron's vineyard are primarily located on a well exposed and gravelly soil, with the subsoil consisting of limestone.
The gravel, typical of the region, reflects the sunlight to perfection, progressively redistributing its heat onto the bunches of grapes, so improving the process of ripening.
This Graves terroir is able to give at the same time a fine and elegant red wine, and a fruity and fresh dry white wine, and makes Château Claron one of the most characteristic wines of the appellation. |
